27th October 2002:Back in the
bottom three and we need to get some points quick. The next three
games give us a chance with Man City and Bolton certain relegation
candidates and Villa trying hard to become one! We need to stop the
rot.
We're almost a third the way through the season now and we've still
not learned the lesson that possession is vital. Play it simple and
keep the ball. We hit far too many long passes that just come straight
back.
No luck again at Chelsea, but in reality the result was a fair one.
I thought the Albion were very disappointing. November is a make or
break month - I think we need 9 or 10 points from the five games just
to stay in touch. If we think we've played all the good teams, then
now is the time to show that we can beat the average ones.
To do that, it will take a much, much better performance than the
one at Stamford Bridge.
