9th December 2002: How did we
lose that game? Finishing, that's all it's down to.
The Tottenham midfield have some excellent players in Anderton, Davies,
Carr, Redknapp and Zeige, but Albion made them look very ordinary.
They were overrun in the first half and re-organised to stop Albion
playing in the second. I thought it was our job to stop the opposition
playing!
If we play like we have done in the past two games, we'll win more
than we lose, providing we start to take out chances. Roberts has
been as guilty as anyone this season. He didn't look too happy at
being subbed, but he's got to understand that Megson will drop him
if he doesn't produce the goods. He's a fantastic player and he still
deserves his place for now, but he must score more - that's what he's
there for.
Four points from the next two games is a must. We're definitely improving
and I'm more certain now than ever that we're good enough to stay
up, but 12 goals in 17 games tells its own story.
To finish, I must say something about Clement. He missed two chances,
and was at fault for the first goal but what really annoyed by was
the fact that he constantly came inside when going forward. He's a
WING back, he should play on the WING - we had no width on the left
and numerous times Koumas, McInnes and Johnson looked to their left
and he was not there - he was inside them. What is he playing at?
