27th April 2003: We woz robbed
- not of the points, I'm not that blinkered, but perhaps of a goal.
JR's shot in the last minute did look over the line on the TV replays.
Not that it really matters, of course - except maybe to JR himself.
But I am very proud to be one of this fine group of supporters. The
Albion fans were brilliant in the second half both in the support
they gave and the wise-cracks that were flying round the ground. I
was a bit disappointed that the guy behind me left when the sixth
goal went in - it may have had something to do with the bet he had
on for Liverpool to win 5-1!
It was obviously distressing to see your team get ripped apart as
Albion were in the second half, but also a privilege to see the performances
of Owen and Gerrard who were both outstanding. This is why were in
this league after all, and why we need to get back as soon as possible.
I'll enjoy the day at Blackburn next week and the last game against
the Geordies. It's up to the players to put in a better performance
than they did against Liverpool as both sides have Eurpoean aspirations
to play for - let's make a difference to somebody before we go back
to the Nationwide.
