22nd August 2003: Watford will
be a good test to see how far the Baggies have come. Walsall was obviously
a disaster, Brentford was a good result but was against 10 men from
a lower level and Burnley was a little flattering. If we can get three
points at Vicarage Road, it will be a very good result.
It will take time for the new signings to get used to playing with
one another which is why I'm not overly concerned with the apparent
defensive frailties that have shown up so far this season. Up front
we have options galore, and creative midfielders to feed them. If
we play anything like as well as we can, we will beat Watford, but
they aren't a bad side as they proved last season in the FA Cup.
A draw would be OK, but a defeat would be a set-back and a dent to
confidence. If we can keep the run going (if you can call two games
a "run"), we all know that results breed confidence which breeds results.
Come on you Baggies!
