10th October 2003: Paul Robinson?
Another bolt from the blue from the Baggies as they announce that
talks are ongoing with Watford left back Paul Robinson. Apparently
they are "some way apart" but other reports suggest a three year deal
will be completed before the weekend is through.
I don't know a lot about him (although I remember him from Neighbours),
but Watford fans appear to be upset at the prospect of losing him.
But what does it mean for Alasanne N'Dour? Clement won his place back
and has played well after N'Dour had failed to sparkle. But I wouldn't
say that the man from Senegal was a disaster by any stretch of the
imagination, but has Megson watched and found him wanting?
I can't see that it is a reaction to Gilly's injury as it was not
reported as serious, and the Baggies rarely move so quickly in the
transfer market. But who knows how the Megson mind works?
