11th April 2004: Six wins on the
bounce and a result that, in all honesty, was just as big as, if not
bigger than, the one at Ipswich. It was not as good to watch, and
it was three points that was expected, but the consequences of not
winning that game would've been serious.
The players were obviously feeling the pressure and it showed on the
pitch. I always thought that the home games were the really difficult
ones to win, because that's where the pressure is greatest. At Millwall
tomorrow, and Sunderland next week, most of us would take a point
so the pressure to win isn't as great and I believe that Albion playing
without pressure are capable of beating anyone in this division -
that's why we have the best away record.
With a bit of luck, Bradford maybe down by the time they visit us
later in the month which may make them an easier proposition - they
may try to play. But if Albion can win these two away games, we'll
be all but home and dry anyway.
It may be a tough ask, but this team have it in them to do it.
