25th April 2004: There was never
any doubt was there? It was obvious at the beginning of the season
that Albion would be promoted back to the Premiership.
Wasn't it?
OK, maybe there were a few doubts along the way, but the players have
done the business and we'll be back at Old Trafford and Anfield next
season.
The confirmation of promotion prior to kick off made for a somewhat
surreal experience as the game was something of a sideshow, despite
its importance in terms of the Championship. The players did stay
focused and won comfortably - in fact it should have mean much more
comfortable but the three points were secured.
We can now enjoy the rest of the season and, having managed to secure
a ticket for Reading, I'll be at all the remaining games to do just
that. The Championship would be nice although it won't spoil any parties
if we fail to wrestle it from Norwich.
But for now, we can just enjoy the moment before we turn our attentions
to how we could possibly stay in the Premiership next season.
