I was unable to get to the Valley, and what a game I missed.

Not only was it Albion's first away victory this season, it was the first time Albion have scored more than two goals in Premiership match, Earnshaw got Albion's first Premiership hat-trick scoring Albion's first penalty of the season in the process (although he did miss one against Fulham) and it was Albion's first win at Charlton since 1954.

If you're superstitious, in the 1954-55 season when that victory was achieved, Chelsea won the league and Albion finished 17th!

It was good to see Big Dave get a run out, although the injury to Gaardsoe is worrying, and I was pleased to see Chaplow make his debut and make an immediate impact by winning the penalty.

This is exactly what Albion needed and it's just a shame we have to wait a fortnight for the next game.
